Holographic Parallax Shader in Blender EEVEE

This is a Blender 2.8 EEVEE render on viewport for demonstration of research only. I had the idea of creating a parallax occlusion shader using different methods on Blender. This shader could be applied like a holographic photography like they used to do back in the 90’s when this technique boomed into print shops. Trading cards or magazine covers use this approach. You surely have seen this effect on Crest’s dental toothpaste packaging. Truth is, we all like glossy sparkly things.

Topics I recommend you search into: Parallax Occlusion Method. Though the toughest part was to find the parallax.decal01_02 after googling for: Parallax occlusion shader for Blender.

  1. “It’s a pretty long and messy network, guys, believe me. I spent 2, 3, 4 days exploring this concept until i finally got it right.”

I believe you. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone, preferably someone who already tackled this hill, would make a video on how to do it? What do you think?
