Blender – Why is 2.8 changing the industry with #InstantRender

Blender 2.8 is changing the 3D industry

I was invited to give a conference about Blender´s eevee realtime viewport and the new 2D grease pencil tools for different users from different 3Dcc applications. This video has CC (close captions / translations) for the following languages: English, Spanish, German, Czchek, Italian, Portuguese & French. Make sure to activate this function into the YouTube Player.

The conference’s expectations about Blender were very high. I invited people to come and ask very hard questions, and the top ones would enter a contest with prizes awarded from Leonardorender.com as sponsor.

I was only given 10 short minutes on the first day and on the second day I was given 20 minutes to talk about Blender’s workflows and tools in details (video not available for now).

Nevertheless it was a very enriching experience to talk with people from 3Ds Max, C4D, Unity and even an ex-Softimage user approached to me with questions about -specifically- realtime shading. It seems from this event that the #InstantRender hashtag has carved a long way into the twitter community and other communities as well. Even so the hashtag #WhyBlender picked up a lot of interest, which -of course- you can go check at twitter. #EEVEE is the Realtime engine which Blender has to compress and compile BSDF Principled shaders to be represented with correct light bounces.
