Blender 2.8 solid release is drawing near. But in case you didn´t have time to catch with almost 2 years’ news, here´s a recap of the strongest features explained by memes! Share Blender news in a fun way so your colleagues can “get it” quickly.
Why Blender 3D is becoming a Big Name in the CG industry?
Blender is an open source software created by the Blender Foundation. The core developer team is growing thanks to the support of important 3d business names like Ubisoft and Epic Games. You can read the complete article here.
Those enterprises decided to support the Blender development economically to integrate some of the tools they have into Blender. Reliable technology support from Intel, Nvidia, even the Motion Pictures Academy (Linux – Open Source department) lean on a new open standard for assets, color management and 3d files for the benefit of productivity and less complicated pipelines having Blender in the center of their decisions.
Being open source, the OGL public license cannot sell the code of Blender. Everyone can own it and improve it, adapt it, and create different “Branches”. The most popular divide themselves like this:
- Blender – Procedural Branch (A Blender version which contains special math shaders)
- Blender – Sculpt Branch (a version which exclusively contains better tools to work on digital sculpting)
- Blender – Fracture and Simulation Branch (physics and shattering modifiers)
- Blender – Video sequencer branch (special functions for the video editor, caching and faster previews)
- Blender – LAANPR (outline for 2D rendering useful for cad, archviz floor design, even npr animations)
- Blender – Animation Nodes (a branch which you can create procedural modeling, animation and parametrization through nodes. Like Houdini, Expresso or Softimage ICE).
